My main research interest lies in the interaction of nanoscale matter with high-intensity, ultrashort and coherent light pulses from short-wavelength free-electron lasers and high harmonic generation sources. In our experiments, ion spectroscopy and coincident diffractive imaging of single nanoparticles, combined with novel pump-probe schemes, enable unprecedented insights into light-induced dynamics on a scale of nanometers and femtoseconds.
At MBI I am involved in the development, setup, characterisation of an attosecond high-flux high harmonic generation beamline for novel experiments and also in experiments at the FERMI FEL and European XFEL.
