We create new mechanical concepts and principles to help realizing the next steps in science. Following the ideas of new experiments we understand the challenges for the essential mechanics and develop corresponding devices which fulfil those outstanding demands. Doing this requires to understand the behaviour and to realise the implementation of never seen mechanical design principles. That includes advanced design ideas, prototypes, simulation and optimization, technical drawings, manufacturing management, integration, commissioning and characterization.

Characteristic examples are the mirror systems for BESSY and the European XFEL in which nanometer and nanoradian precision is required over movement distances of up to 100 mm. This mechanics bases on a newly developed flexure Cartesian parallel kinematics which was an important step towards increasing the knowledge of precision mechanics. Experiment stations were developed where the demands excite the availability on the market. New experiments often require new ideas for the mechanical realization. That is shown in the VekMag, RICXS and DynaMaX experiements at BESSY. Currently we are working on the Split & Delay Line for the Materials Imaging and Dynamics Experiement at the European XFEL.
