Drive laser for the Helmholtz Zentrum für Materialien und Energie Berlin (HZB)

Helmholtz Zentrum für Materialien und Energie Berlin (HZB) develops an energy recovery linac (ERL) with high average beam current. The MBI provides the drive lasers for the various electron guns which are needed to develop and operate this ERL. The current laser is installed an the HoBiCaT test facility for superconducting RF systems. It provides UV pulses with a repetition rate in the 10 kHz range. The figure below shows a scheme of this Yb:YAG laser.
