The development and the application of highly specialized laser systems and measurement facilities for research at the MBI in the topical areas 2 and 3 and for use in the laboratories of our cooperation partners is the main goal of this project. These developments are strongly oriented towards the establishment of ready-to-use systems. Research and development in this area is performed in strong connection with project 1.2.

Unique systems based on chirped pulse amplification (CPA), optical parametric chirped pulse amplification (OPCPA) and post-compression of laser pulses based on hollow-core fibers (HCF) are under development or being commissioned for particular applications.
