Thomas Elsaesser receives the Ahmed Zewail Award for Ultrafast Science and Technology from the American Chemical Society

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has awarded Thomas Elsaesser the Ahmed Zewail Award 2022. The prize is named after Ahmed Zewail, a pioneer of ultrafast science and Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, and recognizes 'outstanding and creative contributions to fundamental discoveries or inventions in ultrafast science and technology'. The award will be presented at the ACS Spring Meeting 2022 in San Diego.

 

Thomas Elsaesser receives the award for his research on water and molecular systems in aqueous environments, among them DNA and RNA, and for his x-ray work on transient charge distributions in crystalline matter.
