Probing Intramolecular Vibration in N2O4 with Ion Coincidence Imaging

We report on the interpretation of a pump-probe study in which dissociative Strong-Field Ionization is utilized to characterize the vibrational motion in the ground state of N2O4 induced by Stimulated Raman Scattering. The fragmentation pathways producing NO2+ ions are studied in detail, which subsequently allows us to analyze the amplitude of the symmetric N–N stretching vibration in the neutral, ground-state molecule.
