Towards high-repetition rate laser-driven electron rescattering

Laser-induced electron diffraction (LIED) is an extension of diffraction with electron beams, where the scattering electron is derived from its own molecule by strong-field ionization and accelerated by the laser field. We combine a 100 kHz mid-IR OPCPA at 1550/3100 nm with a reaction microscope to investigate LIED of polyatomic molecules. I will present the set-up and first, preliminary, experimental results on atoms.
