In this talk, I will present experimental results obtained in the XPL using the high-intensity XUV beamline. Previous static measurements showed that intense XUV pulses can drive many-photon processes leading to the generation of highly charged states of Argon but could not reveal if the multi-photon excitation is occurring in a direct or step-wise manner. I will show that time-resolved XUV-pump XUV-probe measurements allow for the identification of direct or sequential multi-photon ionization pathways during the generation of Ar2+ and Ar3+.
