Postdoctoral Researcher in Ultrafast Pulse Characterization (m/f)

Vergütung: The payment is according to the German TVöD salary scheme for scientists in public research institutions.
Befristung auf: The researcher position is available on January 1, 2018 and limited to 2 years.
Stellenprofil: In a joint project with the Berlin company APE (Angewandte Physik und Elektronik GmbH), a new generation of ultrafast pulse measurement devices will be developed. Part of this development work will be the adaption and optimization of novel algorithms for tomographic reconstruction of the pulse shape from measured data. A further component is laboratory testing of a prototype instrument with ultrafast laser sources at MBI as well as integration of software and hardware components.
Anforderungen: A Ph.D. degree in physics, computer science, or related engineering fields is required. The ideal candidate has computer programming skills in C and experience with parallel computing platforms. Hands-on experience in an optical laboratory work, including automated data acquisition and design of optical setups, are a strong plus. The ability to work both independently and in a team is important, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
