Postdoctoral Researcher in Ultrafast Laser Science (m/f)

Vergütung: The payment is according to the German TVöD salary scheme for scientists in public research institutions.
Befristung auf: The researcher position is available immediately and initially limited to 2 years.
Stellenprofil: MBI has started a project to develop laser-driven sources of soft x-rays for user experiments. In the upcoming phase of the project, an infrared OPCPA system pumped by a state of the art commercial high average power thin disk laser system and experiments will be set up and used to produce high harmonic radiation targeting the water window, with the goal to reach unprecedented performance and reliability for application experiments. You will work as a scientist in a team of experts towards this goal, present your results in scientific journals and at conferences and take part in shaping this research field within MBI.
Anforderungen: The successful candidate holds a Ph.D. degree in physics or a related area and has a track record for performing excellent research with hands-on experience in the areas of experimental OPCPA technology, ultrafast laser development and high harmonic generation. The ability to work both independently and in a team is important, as well as effective written and verbal communications skills.
